Moxie Angels After completing summer camp many girls have a desire to continue their friendships and learning. The program gives girls the opportunity to reinforce the principles from Camp Confidence / Camp Moxie. Our objective is to provide opportunities for girls to learn in areas of personal development, confidence building, leadership, and life skills in a fun, need satisfying environment. The Moxie Angels program was conceived upon completion of the first summer program. The name Moxie Angels was chosen by the first group of campers. "Moxie" is defined in the American Heritage Dictionary as the ability to face difficulty with spirit and courage. "Angels" was inspired by the Charlie's Angels movie and its emphasis on "girl power". The Oxford English dictionary defines "girl power" as a self-reliant attitude among girls and young women, manifested in ambition, assertiveness and individualism. The program enables the girls to continue friendships and have a support group of peers and mentors to talk about issues they are confronting at home or in school. Moxie Angels are divided into age groups. There is scheduled time for homework assistance, mentoring, learning new skills, and recreational activities. The girls also enjoy holiday parties, weekend retreats, and yearly trips.
